I made this from 1/4" corian,
a 10mm 1/4" socket,
and a socket thumb drive i got from ebay
It works well for fine adjustments with the acme rod

Nice idea on the socket thumb drive, wouldn’t have thought of that. I use a craftsman electric screw driver with a 10 mm socket. I like your’s better.
I’m wondering if I can put a toggle switch disconnecting the z stepper motor ,to make the depth
adjustment ,
Then turn it back on ,
That way I don’t have to shut off the entire machine.
Or would that mess up the settings somehow?
