X controller won't connect

Downloaded easEl .39 and now my x controller won’t connect. Everything turns on but I can’t carve. The carve button dosent light up? What is going on

Make sure the emergency stop is pull all the way up. It looks up but it might not be

I opened a different project on a whim. And the carve button lit up. Something weird is going on. Thank u for positive input. Still trying to figure it out!

Just trying to help. Just got mine together today took my controller apart 2 times before i tried to pull up the button The pain was fresh in my mind.
