I feel like Easel isn’t really a useful CNC tool without the ability to work without the worry of accidentally moving objects by simply selecting them. VCarve and Fusion 360 require you to select the move tool to prevent this noobish mistake. With the $200+ price tag I paid for Easel, I’m regretting not getting software that is actually at that price point.
I’ve seen this request for more than 2 years, is Easel a dead projects?
For me I find Easel to be a great tool for the price. It came free with my X-Carve and made cnc instantly accessible. As I have gained experience, it has made the step up to Fusion and VCarve a much more manageable transition. I agree that there is plenty of room for improvement, however, between Easel and the free days of Pro, it fills a gap in the range of options that would otherwise be empty.
