Noobie Dragon Question

Ok I have a friend who has asked me to carve some matching dragon heads.
He sent me an illustrator image that he converted form a web image. I pulled into Easel and got semi ok results
The 2 questions I have are:

  1. How would you clean this up?
  2. How can set up different line depths some you can see mill out and some cut out.

Any help would be appreciated.
