Newbe needs help with Fusion/UGS/Vacusuck

Hi, I just got my machine working last week and have done one or two very small things.
I want to build a dust shoe for the Dewalt 611, and I found this Fusion model VacuSuck v2.
I’ve loaded it into Fusion 360, Processed it with the Shapeko.cps profile, set up UGS, set the G28/G28.1 position.

But I’m missing the basics:

  1. How can I tell in Fusion how big a piece of material I need?
  2. How do I tell fusion the exact thickness of the material I’m using? I think I have to do that before I do the post process, but I’m not certain.
  3. What else am I missing?

Thanks,
Kelly

When you go into CAM mode, you should have a Setup, you can edit this setup and on the Stock tab you should have all the info you need and can specify stock thickness.
You should probably look up in google some fusion360 videos, there’s loads of them.

Thanks!
I did review one of the videos last night, and it helped a lot, although I haven’t been able to get time to try anything.

I’m going to try and put together a separate topic for doing this to get started, at least I hope to do so.

Thanks again,
Kelly
