Need help making usable file

I have a b&w picture of a pattern and colored picture of the finished project. I would like to make this, but I am having a hard time seeing the trace.

any chance you have a copy of that photo without the shadow? and that’s not missing the top edge?

I could not get a clear image, it would be half black.
