Issue with X carve not cutting the same depth

Hi i am very new to the world of the X carve

i recently purchased my 1000mm x carve version it was second hand, but i am having an issue where the machine will not cut at the same depths depending where the router is on the work space.

i am at a loss of what could be the issue everything seems to be tight i have added a couple of pictures so it is easyer to understand what i mean.

Probably uneven height of the waste board and/or uneven thickness of material being carved.

Searching for “waste board” resulted in multiple threads. I will point you in this direction: How to test that my x carve is cutting at the same level

There could be other factors at play here, but a good starting point.
