Health of the z-axis?

I find that assessing the health of the x and y axis is pretty easy. Usually grasping the spindle firmly and pushing it in each direction tells me if its all good. The z-axis is harder. Does anyone have a quick test to tell if the z-axis needs maintenance?

I guess its really the slop in the delrin nut and z-axis pulley grub screws that are harder to assess.

I’ve found that once you get it calibrated and dialed in, the Z axis is pretty much good as-is. I’ve never needed to adjust the belt tension or do anything other than blowing MDF dust off the screw every once in a while.
