Getting wood(y)

Howdy,

Lots of questions and eager to learn.

So a 24x24 MDF board is right in stock at Home Despot. They don’t sell anything else I would carve in. My question is, if I wanted to get a piece of maple, say a sheet (if such a thing exists), where do you go? My 24x24 MDF cut is a test and want to do the real in Maple and stain in.

Find a specialty store that sells hardwood. Most likely you will find 1x6 boards that you will have to laminate together

If you are looking for hardwood veneered plywood, any of the big box stores can order it for you, but many have it in stock. There are lots of sheet goods suppliers online as well
