Well it was a fun build but it’s a fail for this one. I wanted to play around with the gear generator app so I thought if I am going to cut gears I might as well find a use for them. The combination of wrong gearing and not enought motor power killed this project but over all it was a fun and educational build.
Great idea though. Try , try, again.
An extremely ingenious and useful machine, especially around my shop! In the immortal words of Tim Taylor “More Power!” I always dimple the sides of my cans before crushing.
Now that I got the design figured out There will be more power in a future build.
I use this approximately 12 times per weekend…
@PhilJohnson’s flywheel idea is really cool. Watch out for the digits though!
I have a pretty large selection of motor around here from 5vdc to 220vac up to 5hp . time to build a reduction transmission.
It was a thought I have a gutted out drill with the gearbox and motor as one unit.
