should I have 5 - 6 inches of belt looped through the belt clip on the each belt clip?

Extra belt is supplied.
Trim it back or it will interfere.

Thanks for the response, is there a recommended length to keep? Maybe an inch or two?

you can tuck down the extra into the slot.
