Do I need Arduino?

I have purchased the 1000 mm x-carve
Do I need the program Arduino to run my x-carve ?

You will need a computer/controller to control the stepper motors. The easiest / cheapest way to do this is with the Arduino and GRBL controller.

Or you could also a little extra money and purchase the X-Controller, it includes the Arduino and GRBL based controller (plus it has the power supply built in).

Or if you do not want a GRBL based controller you could take a different path and use a Mach 4 based control system, but then you would not have a standard X-Carve.

If you’re talking about Arduino IDE, no you don’t need it to operate your XCarve. It’s a software tool to maintain the Arduino Uno, if needed.
