I use Easel and the paper method to set the Z axis. It’s cutting very deep. I have all correct measurements in for the wood piece. I’ve updated Easel. I’ve reset my computer. I have it set at .00001 and barely touching the wood and it’s still carving deep.
Have you calibrated your steps per mm values ?
Most V-bits are not true point, there is actually a flat spot => make the bit go a smidge deeper “blowing out” the corners.
There may also be variations in actual angle, a 60deg bit may be 59deg.
Both these factors can cause symptoms like what you show.
Have you confirmed that the step/mm calibration for Z-axis is precise?
