I would like to have a tool that can cut a piece in two half

What i do is draw a box at least half the side of the object i want to divide. Set the box to a 0 depth.
Select the object i want to give and move it based on its center point to a know position For example X = 0 Y=0.
I then move the box but my its edge and move it to the same position. You will need to amend the X or Y by half the size of the box but this will then line to two objects up along the mid point.
Select both and combine. you’ll then have half of your original object.
Its a little bit of a work around.
