I’ve been playing around with ideas for a control box to go with my table build. And this is where I’m at right now. The original idea was to mount this to one of the front table legs, but as usual, I’ve overthought the project and decided to create something that can be mounted that way, or just sitting on top of the table. To be honest, it was as much about learning SketchUp and Fusion 360 as anything else, but I like it so far.
And a quick color render… I didn’t put it together very well, but it really doesn’t matter for this. Still in an early stage and haven’t completely worked out component positioning inside.
I love the design! I’d ad rubber holders to the holes to stop the cables from having the ability to move when the box is moved; protecting the sensitive wire connectors inside.
Power in at the rectangular hole in the back. Fan in the front. E-stop on top. Haven’t really played with placement of power supply and Arduino/g shield yet, but there should be plenty of room for them.
Refined a bit, and block representations of the parts inside to make sure they all fit (they didn’t before :D). I’m thinking I’ll probably add connectors for homing switches at some point.
