Carve proud of surface?

Curious if this can be done, I would like to carve letters that stand proud of the surface. From zero at the top of work piece, then carve an outline of text and have the surrounding area recessed to where the letters stand proud of the background. Auy suggestions anyone??

That is very easy to do in Easel, just draw a rectangle and have it create a “fill” cut to how ever tall you want the letters to be, then create the text you want inside the rectangle with a cut depth of zero.
