Cannot offset open paths error in Easel

So working on my latest project and importing a few shape cutouts into Easel but when I try to offset the cut to outside path, I get the following error:

Loaded up the SVG in Inkscape and poked around and my first guess is that this is the issue:

However I have no clue how to fix this (this seems like it should be an easy problem to solve, but this was an EPS converted to SVG and I can’t seem to figure out how to clean up this path. Any thoughts? Here is the SVG.

Easel dose not have the tools to fix it, I opened it Inkscape and joined the corner nodes

Joining or welding options in your editor or CAD program will solve these problems in the future.
