In case others want to know how this can be done easily:
You can import the file into Inkscape (free) and use the Trace Bitmap option under the Path menu. Depending on the file you may have to play with the settings a bit, but something like this seemed to work well enough with the defaults.

In this specific case I actually used CorelDraw, but yeah that’s basically the process.
