Witch bit do you use? How deep do you carve it?
Actually, the outer shape and the holes for the binding are the stuff done on the xcarve. That is a very basic carve, any bit will do fine.
The image is done with a cheap chinese diode laser, only 2.5W. Not great for cutting stuff, but engraves images like this pretty well. It probably goes only 1/32" deep into this cherry, but that’s fine with the great darkened surface it leaves.
