Discussions about the X-Carve 3D Carving Machine
Great machine there… I have been using a Versalaser engraving machine and a craftsman scroll saw. I specialise in wooden gift items and frames. After reviewing X Carve, I have decided this is the machine I want to complement the two. But as a pure novice with CNC routing, I need additional information
What design software is compatible with the machine or does it have its own software? I use CorelDraw, AutoCAD an Imax.
How clean are the finished products, especially extruded carved figures like human faces and the like?
Is there any technical support in Kenya or I would have to get support online?
What are the key challenges with this machine?
I would appreciate your support and reference - I have already configured mine and would be glad to place the order within the shortest time possible.
New to CNC
Interested in making something like this. Can X-carve do this, what programs would I need, and to throw another thing in there, I’m a mac user. Thanks for the info.
Hello,
I am very interested in the X-Carve, and it seems like a very powerful tool. I have a question regarding it’s power in cutting, however. I would like to use the quiet cut spindle that is standard with the X-Carve, as it is speed-controllable and smaller/lighter than previous versions. My question, however, is if the 24 volt spindle is able to cut through aluminum. I would be using it mostly in regards to cutting 1/4 inch thick aluminum plates, and need a machine that is strong enough to do this.
Thanks in advance,
Max
Hi, I’m new to the forum and still trying to figure things out. I currently make these monograms but looking for a faster way. Did you get a response to your question? Will the x carve cut these?
Hello All. Finally I got my X-carve assembled… Indeed made few attempts to carve… I did bought the Z-probe kit to Zero any of my project prior carving. Surprise, surprise, could not get the Z-probe to work. I do have limit switches. The z axe travel downward and got stuck on the main board. Indeed, read as much as I can on different comments on the ‘Forum’ could not find the response to my questions. However while cliking and search on Easel Machine set up under advance tab I finely got the ‘‘G-coding’’ and I notice all axes were at zero except the Z axes under machine set up at 7.0 inc… I do not know how to reset the Z axes to zero. Also, I do have a second point, I loaded one of the samples '‘Fleur de Lys’ is shows ok on my computer screen but the carving unit do make the carve up side down, is this usual??
Can the X-Carve do 3D router cutting? I need to make 3D reliefs, not flat pieces. Any comments would be great. Thanks, MIke
